I started creating Song of the Fallen characters by coloring and editing outlines available in Canva a few months ago, and after making three or so, I decided they would look good as tarot style cards, giving birth to this series… This is our second character: Amy Wenndt.

Before she moved to Ennis and married Hugo Wenndt, Amy was Amelia Knowles, eldest child of John and Janet Knowles and older sister to the Heir of Unmaking, Maudiere Knowles.

By the time Sylvester Knowles took ill and gathered his clan’s children to his bedside to choose his heir, Amelia was already too old to be a suitable host for her family’s legacy. And so, of John and Janet’s four children, Amelia alone was not presented to Sylvester. Her parents saw a different opportunity for her.

The Knowles and Castells had been at odds for generations as families in possession of extraordinarily powerful legacies, but as the two realized that neither family would be going anywhere, they began to see the logic in cooperation. In the interest of forging peace, the families decided to use the oldest method of joining two families in the book: marriage.
